Bites at Brickell City Centre

By: Dana Rozansky

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve likely seen – or at least heard about – the brand new Brickell City Centre. As they say, it’s the heart of the city and the talk of the town…and for good reason.

With four levels of shopping, dining and entertainment, it’s everything us Brickellites have been waiting for and more.

This impressive new structure has got luxury stores to make any shopaholic swoon – but that’s not what I’m here to talk about today. While some people get their panties in a bunch over couture, I get far more excited by cuisine.  So behold – my top 3 spots for the best bites at Brickell City Centre.

Big Easy Winebar & Grill

This unpretentious, sophisticated new spot is just what Brickell was missing. It’s cozy, it’s welcoming and it’s got an extensive menu to meet anyone’s needs. If there’s one word that comes to mind when describing Big Easy, it’s comfort. I felt right at home upon entering the space, and will definitely be back for some of that feel-good food with a South African twist.

MFP Musts: Pork Belly Popsicles, Toasted couscous risotto, Lamb Chops, Brussels sprouts with bacon marmalade

Luke’s Lobster

When you need a quick bite to hold you over while power shopping, Luke’s is your go-to. It’s a quick, high-quality spot to grab the freshest lobster rolls around.

MFP Musts: While you certainly can’t go wrong with a tried and true lobster roll, we recommend ordering Luke’s Trio, so you can get a little taste of everything. The trio comes with a half lobster roll, half crab roll and half shrimp roll. Don’t forget to order some homemade coleslaw on the side, too. You might roll out of there, but it’s worth it!

Pubbelly Sushi

It’s as if the sushi gods answered my prayers. The original Pubbelly Sushi, located on South Beach, is hands-down one of my favorite sushi spots. So when I found out it was opening in my neck of the woods, I was ecstatic. To answer your question: yes, it’s as good as the original. Pubbelly Sushi is a great mid-day lunch spot or a perfect choice for dinner and drinks. Truly never disappoints.

MFP Musts: Butter krab roll, yellowtail roll, spicy tuna on crispy rice, rock shrimp tempura.

Brickell, keep up the good work.
