If you’re reading this, I assume you’re a foodie…and if you’re a foodie, I assume you spend way too many nights eating out. Am I right? I’m the first to admit that I’m guilty as charged. While we all love a good night out on the town filled with fabulous food and drinks, those nights certainly take a toll – both on our wallets and on our waistlines.
Now, let me get something straight. I’m not proposing take-out. I’m also not recommending that you spend hours meandering the aisles at Publix only to slave over a meal that’s mediocre at best and leaves you with a fro-yo craving and a big ole mess in the kitchen.
I’m proposing something new. Something revolutionary. Something that will entice you to trade in your swanky nights out for a swanky night at home…thanks to Eat in Chef, a brand new service that connects you with a community of local, affordable chefs who will cook you a meal that will knock your socks off – all from the privacy and comfort of your own home.
Whether you’re preparing for a girls’ night in, a special date or a family gathering, this is the perfect way to impress your guests – without the hassle and the mess of doing it all yourself!
If you thought that the idea of having a personal chef was out of reach, think again. With meals starting at just $50 per person, it’s made for us guys and gals who are trying to ball on a budget.
The process is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
1. Search for your cuisine of choice & explore local chefs who offer what you’re craving! Here you can browse chef profiles, photos of some delicious dishes and more.
2. Request your chef! Create a profile online, set your location, budget and favorite cuisines using Eat in Chef’s simple filtering system. Here you can fill out all the necessary details such as # of people in your party, any special preferences and more.
3. Eat in! Now that you’ve sorted out all of the details, invite your friends or that special someone over to enjoy a 5-star meal right at home.
So why am I such a fan of Eat in Chef? Well, I put it to the test, of course.
When I found out that Chef Noelia would be cooking for me and five friends, I did what any normal millennial would do: I stalked. I quickly learned of Chef Noelia’s impressive culinary background, having graduated from Johnson & Wales and worked in several different Ritz Carlton’s across Miami. Needless to say, I was impressed.
I communicated all of my preferences to Eat in Chef, and the Chef heard it loud and clear. Although Noelia’s specialties include home-made empanadas and insanely delicious Italian creations such as prosciutto and fig flatbread, I used every ounce of willpower I could muster and requested a healthier meal for my first Eat in Chef experience.
The result? She nailed it! See for yourself:
Course 1: Red Quinoa and kale salad, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, red onions, white balsamic vinaigrette
Course 2: Pan seared sockeye salmon, parsnip puree, sautéed rainbow Swiss chard, fennel and orange salad
Course 3: Macerated fresh berries, citrus infused Greek yogurt, fresh mint
I could get used to this whole personal chef thing…how about you?
