As an OG Brickell girl, I tend to grow tired of the same old options within walking distance from my apartment. Don’t get me wrong - I love what my hood brings to the table (literally), but I’m the queen of repetition when it comes to my favorite spots. Sure, there’s something to be said about the tried and true places, but we all need to shake things up every now and then.
So when I heard about a brand new pop-up at the Kimpton EPIC hotel, I was game. Between Zuma and Area 31, the EPIC has never disappointed, and I was confident that dinner at EPIC Pop-Up would be no different.
Walking out onto the rooftop at the EPIC hotel truly gave me a new appreciation for this city. The views of Biscayne Bay can’t be beat, and you’re nestled in the heart of Brickell’s hustle and bustle but there’s a surprising sense of peace and quiet at the same time. You can find the EPIC Pop-Up just to the right of the pool, with simply-decorated tables with twinkly lights overhead. Scene has officially been set.
You’ll be welcomed by one of the Pop-Up’s friendly staff members, who will offer you a cocktail. The answer is always yes. Then I recommend starting things off with a mezze tasting. Options are aplenty, including Jamon Serrano wrapped Melon, Homemade hummus, Baba Ghanouj, mussels, a variety of cheeses and more.
Now that you’ve warded off any potential hanger, it’s time to sit back and enjoy this incredible setting while you mull over what to order for your main course. There are a number of Mediterranean tapas to tickle your fancy, so I say you get a bunch to share. Just a few of my favorites were the grilled octopus, the chicken shish kebab, the Valencian skirt steak with patatas bravas and the paella Valencia.
So next time you’re looking to mix up your Brickell routine, check out EPIC Pop-Up for some killer views and delicious food.
