With Miami Spice right around the corner, it's about that time that we start prepping our bodies for the influx of carbs and cals. And, what better way to prep an eager belly than with food straight from its natural source?!
This thinking landed me at The Café at Books & Books on Lincoln Road, where I converted (for just one night) from a sinful meat lover to an honorable vegetarian.
The Café at Books & Books in collaboration with James Beard Award winning chef, Chef Allen Susser, has created a curated calendar of Farm-to-Table dinners that are being rolled out across Miami, and just in the knick of time.
Every third Thursday, Chef Allen serves up a sustainable five course meal featuring a different theme or region every month. The community dinner, which is set under the stars in the midst of the eclectic Lincoln Road, features a menu of all-star veggies highlighting the vibrant colors and fresh flavors of locally sourced ingredients. I'm talking about light and fresh plates that will leave you surprisingly satisfied without that bloated, self-loathing feeling that usually plagues a heavy meal.
