Ocean Drive is known for its neon lights and bangin’ bods, but if you’re a local you also know that with the big city lights comes big city traffic…not to mention snail-paced tourists.
Putting my strong feelings for said issues aside, I decided to venture into the art deco district and, to my delight, found a foodie’s bento box—food to please every palate.
So, let me be your guide as I take you on a Miami Food Porn tour of Ocean Drive - stopping at the best dinner, drinks and dessert spots along the way. Please keep your hands and tongues inside the vehicle.
Gianni’s at the Villa Casa Casuarina
The former Versace mansion, transformed boutique hotel, features an elegant Italian Mediterranean restaurant named after the legend himself, Gianni Versace. Of course, it’s only fitting that Executive Chef Thomas Stewart creates a lineup of dishes as lavish as the mansion itself. Because, well, they do it Versace.
Down N’ Dirty
Time to get down and dirty on Ocean Drive. Down N’ Dirty is bringing top-notch tacos and quesadillas with a side of the largest collection of frozen cocktails in South Beach. Whether you’re a frozen or on the rocks kind of guy or gal, the variety of flavors, from Jalapeno Cucumber to Mango, is sure to please.
Welcome to the land of oversized indulgences. No doubt you’ll leave feeling the rush of smoking libations and rich desserts at Sugar Factory located inside the Hotel Victor. If you’re ‘bout it, I challenge you to embrace the restaurant’s sweet escape mentality and order the King Kong sundae. Kidnap 12 of your closest friends and scale the 24 scoop-tower of ice cream.
This concludes our Miami Food Porn tour. Thank you for joining us and we hope you have a new appreciation for the real Triple D’s on Ocean Drive.
