You don’t need to own a 50 foot yacht to be part of the River Yacht Club, but if you do you can dock it while you have brunch (only smaller yachts up to 80 feet, sorry). River Yacht Club made its debut early this year in the Miami River District.
It’s part restaurant, part luxury yacht showroom, part boat marina, with a gorgeous outdoor garden you wouldn’t expect to find in the District’s early stages of gentrification. The restaurant’s menu has long featured influences from the sea, but more recently they’ve brought in a new chef to introduce the restaurant’s seasonal rotating chef program, which will feature a new chef for every season.
Chef Giacomo Pettinari comes from a background of Italian farmers in Loreto, Italy. His career as a chef began when he was 14, and has since included stints in London, Barcelona and Thailand. Valentino Restaurant in Santa Monica earned its first Michelin star during Chef Giacomo’s time there and he was voted Best Chef in Coachella Valley December 2015.
His fall menu is heavily influenced by his Italian cooking styles and includes a Burrata Cheese appetizer served with piquillo peppers, red onion relish and cherry tomatoes; a Squid Ink Gnocchi entree with fresh lobster; and an Almond Cake dessert served with green tea sorbet.
